Presenter: Wendy Coulton

Funeral celebrants work closely with bereaved family’s day in and day out. This is tough work. How do you make sure your own mental and physical wellbeing remains in balance? You help families best when you are not tired or emotionally drained. Self – care is not optional for a funeral celebrant, but do you take it as seriously as you should? Wendy provides strategies and guidance to help.

About Wendy Coulton

Wendy was the first Plymouth-based qualified funeral celebrant when she started to serve the bereaved in Devon and Cornwall in 2013. Drawing on more than 25 years of media and professional communications experience, she is totally committed to creating memorable personal funeral services which reflect the values of the deceased and the wishes of their family. She says ‘I am an advocate for choice, compassion and creativity to ensure the bereaved can say farewell in their own way.  A constant feature of my working life has been ‘people stories’ with empathy and respect for people from all walks of life. I pride myself on the extra touches I use to make a funeral service as unique as the individual being honoured. Wendy has worked non- stop to build a much wider choice of funerals venues for families. She is a keen advocate for celebrants taking care of themselves and has a wealth of great advice to share.
